Crypto firm MoonPay raises $87M from Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg & others

MoonPay, a cryptocurrency payments startup, has raised $87 million from more than 60 high-profile investors including Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg, Maria Sharapova and Bruce Willis.

The investments were part of MoonPay's Series A round, disclosed in November last year which valued the company at $3.4 billion, MoonPay stated on Wednesday.

MoonPay, which provides payment infrastructure for cryptocurrency and NFT transactions, expects content creators to increasingly use NFTs to market their work and in order to engage with fans, CEO Ivan Soto-Wright said.

Other investors in the company include Dremcrew (Drake & Future), Kinship Ventures (Gwyneth Paltrow), Ashton Kutcher, Sound Ventures (Guy Oseary), and singer The Weeknd.
